CPI inflation increases to 9.3 percent on YoY basis

Pakistan, Aug. 4 -- The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based monthly inflation increased to 9.3 percent on year-on-year (YoY) basis in July 2020, from 8.6 percent during June, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported Monday.

On month-on-month (MoM) basis, it increased by 2.5% in July as compared to an increase of 0.8% in the previous month and an increase of 1.% in July 2019.

According to PBS data, The Urban CPI increased by 7.8% on year-on-year basis in July 2020 as compared to an increase of 7.6% in the previous month and 8.7% in July 2019. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 2.2% in July 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.7% in the previous month and an increase of 2.0% in July 2019
