Dhaka, Nov. 15 -- Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Mahfuj Alam today (Saturday) said women's participation in various sectors has increased significantly after the July mass uprising.

He made these remarks at an event titled "Women in establishing democracy: What we have gained" organized by Women in Democracy at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) auditorium in the capital, BSS reports.

Mahfuj expressed the hope that over the next five years, women will join mainstream politics in larger numbers.
