Dhaka, July 18 -- The prices of onions and broiler chickens have gone up over the past week while the prices of brinjal, and green chili remain high, showing no signs of easing.
In Dhaka's retail markets, local onions that were selling for Tk 55-60 a kg just a week ago are now priced at Tk 60-70 per kg.
Nayon Ghosh, a grocer at Sher-E-Bangla Road in Mohammadpur, told the FE that local onions are currently being sold for Tk 54-56 per kg in the wholesale markets of Karwan Bazar and Shyambazar, marking a rise of Tk 5-6 a kg over the past seven days.
