Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- The Election Commission (EC) sent directives to Police Headquarters to ensure security at voter registration centres during the ongoing voter list update, EC Deputy Secretary (Election Support Branch) Md Mahbub Alam Shah said on Sunday.

Mr Shah said that EC directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) regarding the matter.

Voter registration will take place from February 05 to April 11 based on data collected through door-to-door visits as part of the 'Voter List Update Program 2025', according to the directive.

The registration process will include the use of laptops, cameras, fingerprint scanners, iris scanners, document scanners, and printers.
