Dhaka, Dec. 27 -- The prices of vegetables, potatoes, and onions declined more over the past week, while those of chicken and eggs saw a small increase.
Most other commodities remained static at their previous highs, according to market sources.
Newly harvested seed onions (murikata) were sold at Tk 60-80 per kg, and the imported ones at Tk 70-85 per kg.
Onion prices fell by about 40-50 per cent in a week, market sources say.
On the other hand, chicken and egg prices increased slightly by around Tk 5.0 per kg and Tk 5.0 per dozen, respectively.
Traders described this as a normal weekly rise and fall.
Fewer buyers were seen on Friday morning in different markets of Dhaka due to cold weather.
