Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T Christensen on Monday met Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and discussed issues of mutual interest.

"So pleased to continue working together to make both of our countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous," said Ambassador Christensen after the meeting.

The Ambassador congratulated Dr Rahman on his new role as Minister of Foreign Affairs, UNB reports.

Earlier, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a message said the United States looks forward to working with the newly elected government to advance prosperity and the security of the region.
