Dhaka, June 17 -- The United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) has expressed its willingness to support the Bangladesh government in preventing enforced disappearances.
The interest was conveyed during a meeting between Acting Foreign Secretary Md Ruhul Alam Siddique and visiting WGEID members - Vice-Chairperson Gra?yna Baranowska and Member Ana Lorena Delgadillo Perez - at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, according to officials.
The two-member delegation arrived in Dhaka on Sunday for a five-day visit.
During the meeting, the delegation praised the interim government's recent steps to address the issue of enforced disappearances.
