Dhaka, Feb. 25 -- The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) solemnly observed International Mother Language Day and Language Martyrs' Day on its campus today, paying heartfelt tribute to the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the sanctity of the Bangla language.
The commemoration began promptly with a rally that brought together faculty members, students, and staff in a united expression of solidarity and remembrance. This was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Shaheed Minar, where the ULAB community paid their respects to the heroes of the 1952 Language Movement. A one-minute silence was then observed in honour of those who laid down their lives for linguistic freedom, according to a press release.
