Dhaka, May 15 -- A court in Narayanganj has sentenced two men to death and eight others to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of a rice trader in Rupganj Upazila, while one of the accused has been acquitted.

The verdict was delivered on Thursday afternoon by Narayanganj Additional District and Sessions Judge Mominul Islam, according to Court Police Inspector Kaiyum Khan, reports bdnews24.com.

The two men sentenced to death are Milon, 49, and Sajib, 41 - both with single-name entries in documents.

Those sentenced to life imprisonment are Alam, Zubair, Mozammel, Babul, Aminul - all referred to by a single name - and Abdul Hoque, Laskar Ahmed Jibon, and Rahmat Ali.
