Dhaka, July 14 -- A truck driver and his helper were killed when another truck hit their standing vehicle in Manirampur Bazar area under Monirampur upazila of the district today.

The deceased were truck driver Raju, 32, and helper Erfan, 28, residents of Kolaroa upazila in Satkhira district, reports BSS.

The accident took place on the Jashore-Manirampur road around 8 am when a fish-laden truck hit another standing truck as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the standing truck driver and helper dead on the spot, said Bablur Rahman Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manirampur Police Station.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Jashore General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
