Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- Two men were killed on Thursday in a reported shootout with joint forces of the police and army in Mohammadpur area of Dhaka.

Five individuals were arrested in connection with the incident.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately known.

Acting on information about the presence of 'identified terrorists' in Mohammadpur's Bosila, the joint forces conducted a raid, according to the police.

Realising the presence of the joint forces, some "terrorists" opened fire on the security forces from inside a house, despite being asked to surrender.

In self-defense, the law enforcers returned fire, resulting into the death of two men.
