Dhaka, April 21 -- Former war crimes prosecutor Tureen Afroz has been shown arrested in a murder case filed over an incident during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement protests.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan issued the order after hearing a petition of the case investigation officer on Monday.

Barrister Tureen Afroz was arrested on the night of April 7 from her Uttara residence in connection with the "attempt-to-murder" case of a student named Abdul Jabbar during last year's July Uprising protests. She was sent to jail on April 12 after she was remanded for four days, as per a bdnews24.com report.
