Dhaka, June 15 -- A daylight robbery happened on Saturday when a group of muggers impersonated members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and looted Tk 18 million (Tk 1.8 crore) from employees of a distributor of the mobile financial service Nagad in the capital's Uttara area.
According to police and witness accounts, Abdul Khalek Noyon, a Nagad distributor residing at a flat on Road 12, Uttara Sector 13, sent four employees to their nearby distribution office around 9:00am on the day.
Riding two motorcycles, they were carrying bags containing Tk 18 million (Tk 1.8 crore) in cash meant for depositing with a bank.
A black microbus intercepted them when they entered Road No. 13 in the area (Uttara).
Three to four men dressed in RAB jackets...
