Dhaka, Jan. 10 -- State-run distributor Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC on Saturday began repair work on a damaged gas valve on Mirpur Road and a gas pipeline under the Turag River to restore normal gas supply in the city.

According to a Titas Gas press release issued today, a four-inch diameter valve in front of Gonobhaban on Mirpur Road suddenly burst this morning, causing major gas leakage. Titas immediately initiated work to replace the damaged valve, reports BSS.

The release added, "To bring the situation under control, several valves in the distribution network were temporarily closed and gas pressure was reduced. As a result, low gas pressure was experienced in different parts of the capital."
