Dhaka, April 16 -- Students of the Dhaka Polytechnic Institute blocked roads in the capital's Tejgaon, demanding the fulfilment of their six-point demands.

The demonstration began around 10:00 am on Wednesday at the Satrasta intersection, halting all types of vehicular movement in the surrounding areas.

Mizdahul Islam Rifat, a student of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute, said, "We have added a new demand to our previous six-point list. Our latest demand is to cancel the decision to promote lab assistants from the 16th grade to the 10th grade. We don't want anyone to be appointed as a peon and later serve as our teacher."
