Dhaka, Sept. 6 -- Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter said the government will develop the Tanguar haor as a tourism centre along with taking effective steps to protect the biodiversity and fish of the waterbody.
"We will develop the Tanguar Haor as a responsible tourism centre," she said.
She made the remarks at a view-exchange meeting on what to do to protect Sunamganj district's fisheries resources at the district Circuit House last night.
The Adviser stressed the need for regular and extensive drives against the use of illegal fishing nets and their import and export, reports BSS..
"As a result, the use of illegal fishing nets will decrease and the fish production will increase," she also said.
