Dhaka, July 22 -- Students have blocked the Barishal-Dhaka highway, demanding the resignation of the education advisor as part of a list of demands.
The demonstration began around 11am on Tuesday, at the central bus terminal in Nathullabad, Barishal city, and continued until 4pm.
As a result, all long-distance and local bus services across the Barishal Division have been suspended, reports bdnews24.com.
Hundreds of vehicles are stranded on both sides of the highway, causing widespread disruption and distress for passengers.
Zakir Sikder, chief of Barishal Metropolitan Police's Airport Station, said: "Students are occupying the road. A large number of vehicles are stuck on both sides of the road."
