Dhaka, Jan. 26 -- On January 16, Marks Active School Chess Championship, a school-based team chess competition came to a conclusion at International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka came to a close. A five-month long contest that started back in August reached its end with the final match between the teams from St Joseph Higher Secondary School and Uttara DPS. Ultimately, the crown belonged to the Josephites.

The final lived up to the expectations. In the exciting final of four and a half hours, there was a close fight on all four boards. First, the two teams drew 2-2 game points. Each school then played 10 minutes and five seconds of rapid chess in a tiebreaker.
