Dhaka, July 13 -- A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee allegedly committed suicide on Saturday, apparently after failing to achieve GPA-5 in the examination in Shibalaya upazila in Manikganj district.
Tanha Muntaz Prova, 16, daughter of Md Muntaz Uddin, head teacher of Nali Baroria Krishna Chandra High School, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence in Dhutarabari area of the upazila, UNB reports.
According to family sources, Tanha appeared in this year's SSC examination from the science group at the same school and obtained a GPA of 4.94.
Tanha, who used to secure first position in class, became upset after the July 10 SSC results.
