Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- Sayeed Ahmed, Chairman of Global Insurance, has been elected president of the executive committee of the Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) for the 2025-2026 term.

The BIA announced the results in a circular on Sunday. The election was conducted in the presence of Mir Nasir Hossain, Chairman of the BIA Election Board, at the association's office in Dhaka on Sunday.

The BIA serves as the apex body for privately-owned life and non-life insurance companies in Bangladesh.

Beside Global Insurance Sayeed Ahmed is the proprietor of Ahmed Shipping Lines, Ahmed Inland Shipping Agency, AK International, and Ahmed Airways Services.
