Dhaka, Dec. 15 -- Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter on Monday stressed the need for ensuring safe and high-quality shrimp production alongside increasing output.

Speaking at a dialogue session with leaseholders and farmers at a 48-acre demonstration shrimp farm in Rampur Mouza, Badarkhali Union, Chakaria Upazila, she called for adherence to good aquaculture practices and antibiotic-free production to safeguard Bangladesh's traditional Bagda shrimp in international markets, UNB reports.
