Dhaka, Sept. 15 -- Campaigning for the much-anticipated Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU) and Senate student representative elections began today (Monday), following the publication of the final candidate list on Sunday evening at the university's Senate Building. As per the rules, candidates are allowed to start campaigning only after the official list is declared.

A total of 14 candidates have withdrawn from the race, including 11 from RUCSU and three from the Senate. Chief Election Commissioner Prof Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter, saying the final list was published on Sunday evening and candidates can now begin their campaigns.
