Dhaka, Feb. 22 -- Police in Rajshahi recovered the hanging body of a Rajshahi University (RU) student from Tuhin Hostel in the Meherchandi area, near the university, on Friday evening. The university's proctor, Professor Dr Md Mahbubor Rahman, confirmed the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Md Sifat Sifatullah, a first-year student in the Fisheries Department from the 2022-23 academic session. He was a resident of Chanbunia village in Bamana police station under Barguna district.

Following the recovery, police sent the body to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) morgue for an autopsy.
