Dhaka, March 24 -- Senior Home Secretary Nasimul Ghani has described the reports about the declaration of a state of emergency as gossip.

In response to journalists' queries, the senior secretary said he would not make any comments over the matter, terming the topic as nothing but gossip.

He said, "There is stability in the law and order situation in the country, and there will be no disruption in the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr."
