Dhaka, April 23 -- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a special request urging all not to obstruct vehicular movement by blocking roads unnecessarily.

In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, the DMP said that various groups and vested interests have recently been staging road blockades in the capital under the pretext of protests and demands. These actions are causing severe traffic congestion across Dhaka, resulting in immense suffering for students, office-goers, outbound passengers, and those in need of emergency medical transport, UNB reports.
