Dhaka, March 23 -- Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD) forecast rain or thundershowers in parts of the country in 24 hours, commencing at 9am on Saturday.

"Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and the region of Cumilla," UNB reported citing a met office bulletin.

The weather may remain mainly dry, with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Day and night temperature may rise by 1-2degC over the country, it said.

The country's highest temperature was recorded in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar at 33.7 degree Celsius on Friday.
