Dhaka, Feb. 10 -- Protesters, including government-recommended primary school teachers and job seekers registered with the National Teacher Registration and Certification Authority (NTRC) have regrouped at Shahbagh after being forcibly removed by police.
Earlier, police used baton charges, water cannons, and tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.
Undeterred, the protesters have vowed to stay overnight as they continue their demands.
Talukder Piyas, a leader of the protesters whose application for the primary teaching post was cancelled, told bdnews24.com: "We have taken position beside the road outside the National Museum at Shahbagh. We will stay here overnight."
