Dhaka, May 18 -- Professor AKM Ilias is set to be appointed as the first administrator of the interim administration formed to oversee seven government colleges in Dhaka city.

A member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) confirmed the development.

As Professor Ilias' job tenure had ended, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Sunday appointing him as principal of Dhaka College for a two-year term on a contractual basis.

According to reports, the principal of any of the seven colleges may serve as the administrator of the interim body, which has been tasked with managing the colleges until a new university is established to incorporate them under a single entity.
