Dhaka, Feb. 22 -- Police have fired sound grenades and water cannons on Saturday to disperse outsourcing workers who had gathered in front of the National Press Club demanding permanent employment.
The action took place around 5:15 pm after traffic in the area had come to a standstill for nearly two hours due to the demonstration.
More than 500 outsourcing workers participated in the protest, which was organised by the Bangladesh Outsourcing Employees Welfare Association.
