Dhaka, Dec. 15 -- Police have filed a petition with Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court seeking a seven-day remand to question journalist Anis Alamgir in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Uttara Pashchim Police Station Inspector (investigation) Md Moniruzzaman submitted the petition, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Prosecution Division Sub-Inspector Shamim told local media on Monday.
Police took Alamgir to the DMP office on Sunday night.
The next day, DMP DB Chief Shafiqul Islam said he was shown arrested in the case the next day.
A total of five people, including Alamgir, have been named in the case.
