Dhaka, Feb. 11 -- Narayanganj police have raided the Jai Jai Din office in Karwan Bazar in an effort to arrest Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, the Bengali newspaper's editorial board president and publisher.

The raid was carried out around 11:45pm on Monday on the HRC Bhaban, said Narayanganj's Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumdar, bdnews24.com reports.

Sayeed, the founder of HRC Group, is a suspect in a murder that took place during the anti-discrimination movement, he said.

Police failed to locate him in the newspaper's Karwan Bazar office on Monday, he added.

Sayeed could not be reached for comment.
