Dhaka, Jan. 13 -- Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam has ordered on-duty officers to take immediate action after a general diary (GD) is filed at any police station.
At the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's December crime review meeting on Monday, he said: "Action must be initiated within an hour of the GD being filed.
"There can be no delay in the investigation."
The meeting took place at the Rajarbagh Police Lines auditorium, where the IGP called on police personnel to perform their duties with integrity and dedication reports bdnews24.com.
"We must exert full effort to end extortion, muggings, and murders," he said.
