Dhaka, Feb. 25 -- Bangladesh's army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has dismissed any suggestion of army involvement in the 2009 Pilkhana massacre resulted in the deaths of dozens of people, including 57 army officers, saying the attack was carried out entirely by members of the then Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).

"We must always remember one thing-this barbarity was not committed by any army member. It was entirely committed by the then BDR members. Full stop. There are no ifs and buts here," he told a ceremony at the Rawa Club in Dhaka's Mohakhali on Tuesday, held in memory of the slain army officers.
