Dhaka, May 17 -- Parvez Hossain Emon has smashed a massive slog-swept six off leg-spinner Mohammad Zuhaib to set a new record for the most sixes in a T20I innings by a Bangladeshi batter.

Against the UAE, the left-hander has launched his eighth six of the knock, which has also marked his maiden career fifty, reports bdnews24.com.

The earlier record belonged to Rishad Hossain, who struck seven sixes during a 30-ball 53 against Sri Lanka last year.

The world record, however, remains far ahead. Estonia's Sahil Chauhan blasted 18 sixes in a 144-run storm off just 41 balls against Cyprus last year.
