Dhaka, Jan. 30 -- The government is planning to establish a separate university for the seven major government colleges in Dhaka, which may be named 'July 36 University'. The name was proposed by the committee headed by the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Professor SMA Fayez. However, the final decision will depend on student approval.
Professor Fayez, along with three other members of the committee, held a meeting with Education Adviser Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud on Thursday, where the proposal for this name was discussed.
"We considered several names, but 'July 36 University' particularly stood out. The education adviser also appreciated it. If the students accept the name, it can be finalised," said the UGC chair...
