Dhaka, April 25 -- 'Janata Party Bangladesh' (JPB), a new political party, formally launched its political journey on Friday through an event held at Hotel InterContinental.

Renowned actor and prominent road safety leader Ilias Kanchan was named the chairman of the newly formed party, while Shaukat Mahmood, a former vice chairman of the BNP, took the role of secretary general.
