Dhaka, Nov. 20 -- Natore sugar mill is set to begin its 42nd sugarcane threshing operation tomorrow, aiming for increased production in the new season.

The mill has set a target to produce 6,930 tonnes of sugar by threshing 110,000 tonnes of sugarcane, reports BSS.

This season, sugarcane has been cultivated on 8,10 hectares of land within the mill's operational area. To support farmers, the mill authorities have disbursed Tk 93 million in loans for seeds, fertilisers, and cash assistance.

Additionally, the purchase price of sugarcane at the farmer level has been raised from Tk 6,000 to 6,250 per tonne, offering growers a better return on their produce.
