Dhaka, June 8 -- The Ministry of Education renamed 24 government schools bearing the names of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members.

On June 4, the Secondary and Higher Education Department (SHED) of the ministry issued a notification changing the names of the institutions.

In the notification signed by Deputy Secretary Rahima Akhter, the SHED said that the names of the institutions have been changed in line with the instructions from the Cabinet decision implementation monitoring branch on February 9, according to a bdnews24.com report.
