Dhaka, Dec. 14 -- MTB PLC has recently disbursed loans to 55 Tribal farmers at Modhupur, Tangail, a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening financial inclusion, promoting sustainable agriculture and enhancing the socio-economic development of the indigenous community.

According to a press release, the farmers are given loans at a 7 per cent interest rate under the refinance scheme of "10/50/100-taka account holders" of Bangladesh Bank to empower the marginal community to change their livelihood.
