Dhaka, March 4 -- Starting today, two Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) police men will be stationed inside each metro rail coach to enhance passenger security, according to MRT Police Inspector (Operations) Sujit Kumar Gomasta.

Additionally, an adequate number of security personnel will be deployed at metro stations to address various concerns, including lost children, elderly passengers, misplaced belongings, theft prevention, and conflict resolution among commuters.

Sujit expressed optimism that expanding the MRT Police force and establishing an independent unit would further improve service quality.

The MRT Police have been operating since November 2023 to ensure the safety of metro rail passengers and stations.
