Dhaka, March 6 -- Teachers and employees of the private MPO-enlisted schools will see increases in festival, housing and medical allowances with effect from the next Eid-ul-Azha.

Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud made the announcement during his farewell as adviser to the education ministry at its conference room in secretariat on Wednesday.

CR Abrar (Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar), newly appointed adviser to the education ministry, was also present on the occasion.

After taking his oath at Bangabhaban, he joined the programme.

The newly appointed adviser was welcomed with flowers by outgoing education adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud and senior ministry officials at the event.
