Dhaka, Feb. 28 -- The distribution of monthly allowances for the families of martyrs of the July-August uprising and the injured is expected to begin in March, the chief adviser's press wing announced on Thursday.

At a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy, deputy press secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder shared the information received from the relevant ministry, which hopes to initiate the disbursement by March.

Press secretary Shafiqul Alam elaborated on the support measures for the victims.

He said the families of all 834 martyrs, whose names were published in an official gazette, will receive one-time financial assistance of Tk 3.0 million each.
