Dhaka, Feb. 6 -- An agitated mob of students and the public has beaten two people on suspicion of being Awami league activists during the demolition of the home of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Dhanmondi road no. 32.
The incident occurred around 11:30 am on Thursday, as per a bdnews24.com report.
Witnesses say a woman was beaten for allegedly "shouting a Joy Bangla slogan", while a man was attacked for referring to the building as "Apa's home" in reference to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
When the crowd set upon the woman, there were no law enforcing personnel in the vicinity.
The woman is believed to be a resident of Farmgate, but her name and identity have not been confirmed.
