Dhaka, March 3 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been admitted to Gulshan's United Hospital, according to party spokesman Shairul Kabir Khan.

"Sir was hospitalised yesterday [Sunday] at the advice of doctors," he said on Monday. "Sir is now in a cabin."

"Sir's condition is largely better today. He is healthy now."

Fakhrul is under the care of United Hospital Chief Cardiology Consultant Dr NAM Momenuzzaman, reports bdnews24.com.

His wife, Rahat Ara Begum, and his youngest daughter, Mirza Safaruh, are with him.

They have requested party leaders, activists and supporters not to crowd the hospital.
