Dhaka, March 20 -- A mild heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Sirajganj currently, and it is likely to abate, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday.

The met office, however, forecasted that rains or thundershowers with lightning flashes accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds are likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and hails at isolated places for the next 24 hours, beginning from 9:00 am today.

BMD meteorologist Dr Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik predicted that weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, reports BSS.
