Dhaka, Nov. 30 -- Metro rail services were suspended temporarily on Saturday night after two individuals climbed onto the roof of the Bangladesh Secretariat Station, authorities said.
In a statement, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) informed passengers that train movement had been halted as a precautionary measure after the incident was detected.
The authority also said safety protocols required an immediate shutdown of operations to avoid any risk to the individuals and passengers.
"Metro rail operations are temporarily closed as two people have climbed onto the roof of the Bangladesh Secretariat Station. We sincerely regret the temporary inconvenience caused to our valued passengers," the notice read.
