Dhaka, Nov. 28 -- A young man has surrendered to police with "a blood-stained Chinese axe" after killing his friend in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh.

The incident took place at Trishal Government Nazrul Academy grounds at 8.30 pm on Thursday.

The dead, Muntasir Fahim, 22, had been studying in Malaysia and returned home four months ago, his grandmother Maksuda Akter said.

He was living in a house behind the municipal hospital. His return flight to Malaysia was scheduled for Dec 25, reports bdnews24.com.

The man who surrendered, Ahidul Islam Anik, is Fahim's friend.

Trishal Police Chief Golam Mustafa Rubel said Anik came to the station with a blood-stained sharp weapon after killing Fahim.
