Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- An elderly man has died after a freight train collided with a lorry in the Sagorika area of Chattogram city.

The accident occurred on the railway line adjacent to the Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Pahartali Thana around 4:30 am on Tuesday.

The deceased, identified as 60-year-old Shamsul Haque, was a resident of Didar Colony in Pahartali. He hailed from Kishoreganj, reports bdnews24.com.

Shahidul Islam, chief of Chattogram GRP Police Station, said that the freight train was heading to Dhaka from the Chattogram Goods Port Yard and was passing by the stadium in Sagorika when a lorry got onto the tracks and rammed the train's engine.
