Dhaka, March 27 -- A man in Bandarban has allegedly lost a leg in a landmine explosion at Bandarban's Naikhongchhari border.
Masrurul Haque, officer-in-charge of Naikhongchhari Police Station, said that the incident occurred at the zero point in Myanmar territory along Dochhari Union's Lembuchhari border on Wednesday.
The injured man, 20-year-old Mohammad Shahidullah, is the son of Badsha Mia, a resident of Bahir Math in Lembuchhari, reports bdnews244.com.
According to locals, Shahidullah crossed the border to "smuggle" Bangladeshi goods into Myanmar. On his way back to Bangladesh, he set off a landmine planted by the Arakan Army near the border observation post pillar No. 49.
