Dhaka, March 16 -- Police have arrested a madrasa teacher on charges of raping two students at the institution in Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Baitul Atfal Madrasa in Sarishabari Municipality's Satpoa village on Saturday. As word of the incident spread, villagers detained the teacher and demanded that he be brought to justice.
Police and army personnel subsequently went to the scene and arrested the accused, according to Chand Mia, chief of Sarishabari Police Station.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Bazlur Rahman, was an assistant teacher at the madrasa, reports bdnews24.com.
